Tony Awards 2014 Inspired Wishlist

Just in case you couldn't tell from references to Matilda and Kinky Boots in past posts, I'm a Broadway girl. No literally, in 4 years I'll be graduating with a BFA in Musical Theatre. (From a school whose alum are nominated for a number of Tonys this year, thank you very much) Anywho, if you're reading this post, I applaud you. Theatre -especially that of the musical variety- is, unfortunately, a niche form of entertainment. So if you're reading this thinking I've got no idea what this crazy belting chick is talking about what the heck is a time step, feel free to leave now and continue your life as a deprived dum dum or you can continue reading and enjoy your education on the Tony Awards for 2014.

Current Skincare Routine 5/26/14

Ah skincare. A true double edged sword. On one hand you could have a product that you love and you swear by and you would marry if you could, but you could also pay thirty bucks for a face wash and not have it do diddly squat for your pretty face and be left with a gut full of regret. Fortunately for me, my feelings toward my skincare routine are much more akin to the former. Seriously my skin hasn't looked this nice in I don't know how long, so here's what I'm chalking my ever-improving complexion up to.

Essie's Splash of Grenadine is a color that's totally blown up lately. Why you ask? Essiebutton of course. If you don't know who that is, you best get on that. Homegirl is my biggest beauty blogger/vlogger enabler. Estee says something is fab? I need it. No question. It shall be mine. Anywho, she was super on point in her choice of polish with this one.

Ayy Girl Where You Been?

Hellooooo readers!! I've been gone quite a while in case you haven't noticed and I'd like to provide you some explanation. What it really comes down to is that I got bored. There are only so many posts on lipstick you can write (or read, for that matter) until they become monotonous.

(Psst there's entire episodes on youtube go friends go) For those of you who have seen Girl Code, however, you know how they have that one little snippet every episode called "#ICan't" where a member of the cast goes off on a mini rampage about something or someone that makes them just go, "ugh, I can't"? Hello friends!! So I'm a horrible blogger and haven't photographed any favorite for you this month. Why, you ask? Well, I-I just kinda don't have any? As I was trying to put together this post I realized that I didn't really have any fantastic favorites to share with you all. I've also been a bit under the weather for a little over a week now and I'm still not feeling 100%. You know that level of sick you can get where you feel gross enough to not exercise or really go anywhere, but there's still this part of you that's fine and that part is all like, "Dude, I'm fine, let's go do stuff" so therefore you want to do stuff but you can't? (That was a horrendous run-on sentence) Yeah, that.

Regardless, I'm here now to share with you not my March favorites, but my March...stuff.

Sephora Chic Week Wishlist

Bonjour ducklings!! Now as some of you may or may not know, there is a truly magnificent event approaching. That event is Sephora's Chic Week. It's the spring version of the store's semi annual sales. (The other one's in November, in case you were wondering) In order to reap the benefits of this lovely occasion, you just need to sign up to be a Beauty Insider on the Sephora website. But who am I kidding if you're reading this you're probably already one or you're one of the higher up fancy levels that get even more stuff than we basic BIs do. Anywho, here's what's on my wish list for April 12th.

Inspo // Gryffindor

 Okay so I do not know what it is recently but my love for Harry Potter has come back in full force. Not that it's not always there, just kinda under the surface most of the time. I definitely stayed up 'til 4am to find one of those ding dang feathers to get onto Pottermore early and I also vehemently sobbed at the midnight premiere of Deathly Hallows Part 2. Like so much my friends made fun of me...we're not friends anymore.

What's On My Face: 3/19/2014

Bonjour ducklings!! Yet another week has gone by without me posting I know, I know I'm sorryyyyyyy. Let's overlook that, shall we? And get on to what we all really care about. The stuff on my face.

Lush Haul

  If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I love Lush. Lush and I have a very deep emotional connection based on sparkly bath bombs, shampoo bars, and other natural goodness. And although the fact that there's a Lush branch at the mall next to my house doesn't exactly feed my wallet, it does feed my soul.

This is the beginning of a little segment I'd like to call "Inspo". Sometimes you just see a character on TV or read a book and you just go "mm. yes. I could totally create a look around this." And that's exactly what happened as I was watching Once Upon a Time and noticed that Snow's makeup game was strong this episode. I mean really, whose eyebrows look like that when they're on the run from an evil Queen who usurped their kingdom? Very few.

I'm having a real Sally Field "You like me! You really like me!!" moment here because CFTD now has 30 followers! THIRTY! There are three groups of ten of you who care enough about my little corner of the internet with a strange name to want to keep track of what I post. I want to say thank you. Waffle

A vague post title for a post about products I feel vague about. Seems well planned to me. Not really though cause it just kinda hit me thirty seconds ago and I decided it was absolutely genius.
There are quite a few products out there in the blogosphere that are so insanely raved about that you can feel left out if you don't have one to your name. I, however, took Sandra Bullock's advice in The Blind Side where she says to always ask yourself, "Is this me?" before you buy something. And while this is a process in which I always partake, I'm also an extremely indecisive croissant eater and constantly waffle on whether or not these few products are "me".

Bonjour ducklings!! Um so it's March already and I'm kinda freaking out about it. February was a bit boring for me, but somehow it also flew by. Anywho, here's the stuff I've loved this month!

Au Naturale

I've been such a bad blogger I'M SO SORRY I'm trash. I've been MIA for a little over a week cause I've been feeling real under the weather, but that's no excuse for not giving you guys a little post or two and I'm so sorry! I'm feeling better now and am getting back into the groove of things, so I hope you didn't miss me too much.

Review // Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream

 Bonjour ducklings!! I'm here today to tell y'all about this rust colored magic in a tube. Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream is an all natural cleanser formulated with a whole bunch of nice extracts and almond meal for a nice deep cleanse and light exfoliation. I purchased this at my local Whole Foods for $28.99, but can be found for a few dollars less on the brand's website.
Now, I've only been using this cleanser for about three days, and already I can see a huge improvement in the texture and cleanliness of my skin. My obsession with this grows each day as it has been restoring moisture to my skin while effectively clearing up my skin. This stuff soothes, clarifies, and exfoliates all while managing not to strip my skin of absolutely everything. And to top it all off; it's all natural!! Score! Seriously, the ingredient list is just a bunch of scientific names for plant extracts and some water.
One interesting thing about this cleanser is there's a special way you have to use it in order to get the intended results. The brand's unique "press and roll" cleansing method is said to "stimulate the skin's ability to cleanse itself and lifts away dull, dead skin". I had absolutely no idea what that meant at first, so I turned to YouTube. If you want to see the "press and roll" method in action, click here.
Having such awesome results from this cleanser makes me wanna spend all day in the beauty aisle at my Whole Foods. I'm super interested in natural beauty and am definitely trying to incorporate more of it into my routine. Why put nasty chemicals on your face every day when you could be using the good stuff?!

Preferred Methods of Wasting Time

As I mentioned in my last post, I'm a professional night owl. While most of my day is spent sometimes actually doing stuff, my evenings/early mornings are spent gaping at my computer screen. While this is a habit I would love to break, lying in bed four hours before my usual bedtime trying to fall asleep simply isn't as much fun as Twitter. Therefore, I shall continue my nocturnal ways until some divine force intervenes.

Current Skincare Routine

Bonjour ducklings!! My valentine this year may be my cat, but my love for skincare never dies. My skin has been getting a whole lot better for the past few months, leaving only some deep blackheads and the occasional wombat. Those ding dang blackheads are becoming the bane of my existence now, which is why I've added the Mario Badescu Drying Cream to my arsenal. It's definitely helping and a lot of those blackheads have peaked out by its hand (along with the hands of my facialist), but it is true to its name and dries out my skin quite a bit.

A Few Things

First of all…
Ahhhh look how pretty my blog is now!! I can't say I did it myself (thank you Etsy), but it's absolutely worth every penny. Just having a nicer theme for my blog makes me want to add more to it and give you darling ducklings more to read. My goal is to post 2-3 times a week and I've definitely been slacking for about ten days…oops!! Don't worry though, I'm hopping right back in with my cute as heck new theme!

Well I, for one, do have a list and oh boy is it a long one. Here's the stuff that I'm seriously considering purchasing after my current tube of REN Clay Cleanser peaces out.

January Favorites

Well, 2014 is shaping up to be a big'un. January has definitely been…a lot for me. It's leading to some great changes, though. I hope you've had a super kickass start to the year! Most of the fruits of this post come from the glory that is Christmas money and have been much loved ever since I purchased them. We've got a good mix of hair, skin, makeup, and even a book so let's get started!!

Obsessed: Mario Badescu

Generally I find it really annoying when people say, "Ohmygod I'm so obsessed…", "Ugh I'm obsessed with you", or even just comment OBSESSED on an Instagram picture. It just seems so ungenuine. When it comes to beauty products, however, I can definitely get behind being obsessed.

REVIEW // MAC Creme Cup & Viva Glam I

Bonjour Ducklings!! Here we are with my very first review. Now originally, I hadn't planned on getting these two shades of the cult favorite MAC lipstick. I went from MAC counter to MAC counter in my local mall one day searching for the shade Patisserie, only to be told that the shade is only sold in stores and not at counters (just so y'all know). So as I browsed through the bleacher stand of tubes anyway, I came across Creme Cup, remembering it from countless beauty bloggers' favorites. Well if they think it's fab, so will I, I thought and handed over my debit card.

Hello and Happy 2014!!
Ahhh a new year, a new blog entering the webosphere. Is that a word? I dunno...

Anyway, I'm Felicity, but you can call me Lissie. I'm a girl on her gap year and I'm from the good ol' U S of A. Where in the US you ask? Well, it's usually sunny and near a Disney park. Not too vague, right? I'm living at home until I leave for school in August to a place that definitely isn't warm and sunny all the time.
My purpose in starting this blog is simply that I'm so inspired by all the beauty blogs I keep track of (praise bloglovin') not to start one of my own. I look at Vivianna Does Makeup and Parisian to Be and think, "Ohmygod I just want to swatch things."I'm so glad I've decided to create a place where I can put my own opinions on the world of beauty- and sometimes other things -instead of just reading others'.
2014 is gonna be a fantastic year for me, and I hope it is for you too.
